Downtown LA is historic and beautiful. The streets today have the intensity and density of great European cities like Paris or Milan but without the cobblestone. The building facades are well-preserved and some have undergone welcome renovation in recent years which has restored them to previous beauty. It's no secret that DTLA hosts many film and TV productions and sometimes, if you're lucky, you may be transported to the 20th century in the prewar years.

Downtown LA has seen a wave of revitalization in the last decade with many of the majestic old buildings in the Historic Core undergoing renovation and being adapted for new use. I am reminded of the famous lyric from a song by the artist Sia: "I want to swing from the Chandeliers".
